Friulano is the soul grape of Friuli, and few have done more to dignify it than Nicola Manferrari. This bottling is the varietal expression: 100% Friulano from Borgo del Tiglio's holdings in the Collio hills, fermented and matured on its fine lees in oak barrels. Manferrari is the man who took Friulano from industrial jug wine to one of Italy's serious whites, applying ideas borrowed from Champagne (gentle, gradual pressing) to coax out texture and mineral depth. Round, savory, and built to age, this is what Friulano is supposed to taste like.
