The second wine of Margaux Third Growth Château Cantenac Brown, named for the cheerful brio of its more open, fruit-forward style. The blend leans Merlot in this cuvée (with the usual support of Cabernet Sauvignon and a dash of Cabernet Franc), and it's aged with a lighter touch on new oak — generally around 20% — to keep the fruit front and center. The 2019 is a beautiful vintage for Margaux, and this captures it nicely: violets, red cherry, a brush of cedar, silky tannins, and that aromatic lift that's the calling card of the appellation.
