Cirelli Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, 2024
Italy's most famous rosé, made by Francesco Cirelli on his 22-hectare biodynamic farm near Atri, just a few miles from the Adriatic in Abruzzo. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is the traditional rosato style of the region, made from Montepulciano with a short skin contact that gives it a deep cherry-pink color (cerasuolo means cherry-like). Cirelli farms organically since 2006 and is biodynamic-certified since 2021. Hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, bottled with minimal sulfur. A rosé with real grip and depth, not just a summer sipper.
