Amour de Deutz is the house's tete de cuvee, and the rose version is one of Champagne's most underrated prestige bottlings. The 2008 vintage is already legend, one of the great Champagne years, and this bottle has had 17-plus years on lees plus additional bottle aging to layer in complexity. Pinot Noir-led with a serious dose of Chardonnay and a touch of red wine for color, it's pale, brilliant, and tightly wound: red currant, sweet cherry, fine spice, chalk. The 375ml format makes a famously age-worthy Champagne accessible for a single occasion.
