Anne and Herve Sigaut have been quietly building one of Chambolle's best small domaines for decades, working seven hectares organically with low yields and a light hand in the cellar. The wines are textbook Chambolle: elegant, floral, fine-grained. Derriere le Four is one of the village's top premier crus, just outside the village proper, with 45-year-old vines on sand, clay, and silt over limestone. The 2022 brings lifted red cherry and raspberry, violet, and a touch of forest floor, with silky tannins and a fresh acidic frame. The kind of premier cru that makes Chambolle's reputation.
