Aux Thorey sits at the northern edge of Nuits-Saint-Georges, on the road to Vosne-Romanee and right next to Les Chaignots, and the wines from this stretch often read more like Vosne than the bigger-shouldered Nuits to the south. Etienne de Montille farms 0.73 hectares of limestone and marl here, and the cooler breezes from the Hautes Cotes give his Aux Thorey a perfumed, almost floral character with serious 1er Cru structure underneath. The 2022 is aromatic and graceful with a frame that should open relatively early for the appellation. Drink 2027 through 2040.
