Aux Saints-Juliens is a tiny village-level lieu-dit in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, named for a 6th-century chapel that no longer stands (a cross now marks the spot). Etienne de Montille's holding is small but planted with 50-plus-year-old vines on the lower-slope northern section, just below 1er Cru Les Thorey. The age of the vines and the high whole-cluster percentage in the cellar give the wine a fragrance and grace that often outpunches its village classification. The 2023 is delicate, floral, and drinks well young. Cellar five years if you want it to really blossom. Drink now through 2035.
