Arguably the most famous of the Islay distilleries, and for good reason. The 16 year Lagavulin opens up with myriad smoke-influenced aromas, with iodine and lapsang souchong tea in the foreground, followed by sweet spiced fruit and finishing with an almost sherry-like character.
