A village-level lieu-dit from one of Gevrey's most exciting young producers — and a wine to know. Aux Etelois sits just below the Grand Cru Griotte-Chambertin, on the same hillside, with the same calcareous soils. Officially it's labeled village, but in the glass it punches well above its appellation, with the depth and structure you'd expect from a wine grown next to one of the world's great Grand Crus. Pierre Duroché works in a classical, restrained style — and Etelois is the quiet star of his village range. 2023 brought aromatic generosity and ripe tannins. Offered en primeur, in bond.
